Our story

A family story

In 1936, Tris Coffin's father opened an optical business on McGill College Avenue. Offering impeccable service and personalized attention, he built a solid practice with an enviable reputation. For decades since, the name TRIS COFFIN has been synonymous with prestige and quality eyewear. In 1999, Tris Coffin joins forces with the team of Dr. Guy Meunier, Dr. Jack Rosenthal and Dr. René Asselin, who had been operating in Place Ville-Marie since 1962. The two prestigious practices merged under Tris Coffin Meunier Rosenthal Asselin banner and moved into larger premises in Place Ville-Marie. In 2009, Tris Coffin's daughter, Julie, became actively involved in the operation, thereby ensuring the tradition of first-class eyewear in the Greater Montreal community.
